 Hi, this is why you should keep your yard messier in the winter.

1. the leaves help animals hide

2. untrimmed plants provide food for birds and the plant skeletons provide shelter

3. plant trees or/and bushes with berries so birds can eat when other food sources disappear in fall and winter.
