🐰 Bunnies and what to do. 🍀

Hi,

This blog post is about baby bunnies and how rabbits (often called bunnies) take care of their young kittens (what baby bunnies are actually called). When people come across a nest of baby bunnies the kittens are left alone by the mama which causes people to think that the kittens have been abandoned by their mama, but that is usually not the case. Mama bunnies usually don’t go back to their young on a constant basis due to the threat of predators finding their unprotected kittens.

What do do when you find kittens:

1. Put long pieces of grass over the nest and wait at least 24 hours then check on the burrow if the grass has been disturbed then the mama takes care of her young if not then something could have happened to her.

2. If the grass was disturbed then leave the burrow of baby bunnies alone if it was not disturbed and they are truely abandoned then call a local wildlife rehab shelter  nearby you.

Until next time, Grace

P.S. Happy St.Patrick’s day! 🍀🍀
