What affects migrating birds? Migrating birds are affected by the light because many birds travel at night to use the stars and moon to guide their way. One way to solve this problem is by turning off your lights at night. Another thing birds are affected by are windows up to 1 billion birds die every year because of collisions with clear or reflective glass. This problem is easily solvable by putting something on the window. Some examples of things that you could put on your windows are streamers, beads, translucent tape, or UV stickers which are less apparent to human eyes but still highly visible to birds.
