Are cigarette bits harmful to nature? Yes, yes they are and why are they harmful? Cigarette buts and Cigarettes in general are harmful to nature AND to humans because they contain toxic chemicals including Nicotine, Arsenic, Lead, Formaldehyde, and Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons. According to KAB (Keep America Beautiful) Americans are smoking fewer cigarettes, and yet why do we keep finding them in the ditches or on the side of the road? We keep finding them because some people are careless about the affect that cigarettes and cigarette butts have on the planet. But that’s not the only problem that exists, Cigarettes and cigarette butts are not the only things polluting the planet their are other things to, things such as plastics and garbage, and yes I did just separate plastic from garage even though it is technically garbage and the reason for that is because plastic is one of the most harmful things for the environment and is found everywhere and I will get more into plastic in the next blog but the bottom line is that cigarettes and cigarette butts are found along the roads and ditches because people are being careless about the affect it has on nature and it’s well everything from the Oceans to and you may not believe it but the deserts and it even harms the animals. One time while I was picking garbage out of a ditch we found 333 cigarette butts total but their are still more in other ditches and along the side of the roads. So I am going to end this saying watch where you put your cigarettes and cigarette butts and please, please, please don’t throw them out of the car window.
Until next time,
Grace
